The Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2017 provides FY2017 appropriations for the civil works projects of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers; the Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Reclamation and Central Utah Project; the Department of Energy (DOE); and several independent agencies, including the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
The bill would provide $50 million in new funding for the Department of Energy Office of Science, of which $1 million in new funding would be directed to the Biological and Environmental Research Program.
S. 2804 passed the Senate Appropriations Committee on April 14, 2016. H.R. 2028 ultimately became the vehicle for consideration on the Senate floor.
